Undoubtedly, the performance of the private sector is better in the aviation industry than the public sector. however, it depends majorly on two factors aviation fuel prices which make up around 80% of the cost of the airlines and investment. Public sector airlines do not perform at par with the private ones but since they have backing from the government which makes them continue to work. Private players have to shut down as can be seen with the case of Jet airways due to losses.
