Area of a = 1.5m x 3.4m = 5.1m²

Area of b = 6m x 4m = 24m²

Area of total floor = 5.1 + 24 m² = 29.1m²

a. Area needed to paint = area of wall and door- area of door

Area of wall and door = 4m x 3m = 12m²

Area of door = 1m x 2m = 2m²

Area needed to be painted = 12- 2m² = 10m²

b. Charges to paint the wall = 12.50 x 10m² = AED 125

Third question :

Area of canvas = 60m x 45 m = 2700m²

Area of sheet pasted = 40m x 20m = 800m²

Area of canvas not covered = 2700 - 800 m² = 1900m²

Cost of painting the canvas = 19.50 x 2700 = AED 52650

Cost of painting the not covered space = 19.50 x 1900 = AED 37050
