Given :

Perimeter of parallelogram = 109cm

Length of parallelogram is greater than breadth by 5.5cm

To find :

Length of parallelogram

Breadth of parallelogram

Formula used :

Perimeter of parallelogram = 2(l+b)

Here,

l = length

b = breadth

Solution :

Let - Breadth of parallelogram = x

According to the question,

➝ Length of parallelogram is greater than breadth by 5.5cm

➩ Length of parallelogram = x + 5.5cm

________________________________

➝ Perimeter of parallelogram = 2(l+b)

➩ 109cm = 2[ (x+5.5cm) + x ]

➩ 109cm/2 = x + 5.5cm + x

➩ 54.5cm = 2x + 5.5cm

➩ 2x = 54.5cm - 5.5cm

➩ 2x = 49cm

➩ x = 49cm/2

x = 24.5cm

________________________________

➝ Breadth of parallelogram = x = 24.5 cm

➝ Length of parallelogram = x + 5.5cm

➩ Length of parallelogram = 24.5 + 5.5

➩ Length of parallelogram = 30cm

ANSWER :

  • Length of parallelogram = 30cm
  • Breadth of parallelogram = 24.5cm
