given perimeter of rectangle = 120m

length of rectangle = 40m

let breadth of rectangle = X

Area of rectangle = ?

perimeter of rectangle = 2( l + b )

120 = 2 ( 40 + X )

 \frac{120}{2}  = 40 +  \: x

60 = 40 + X

60 - 40 = X

20 = X

so, the breadth of rectangle = 20m

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

= 40m × 20m

800 {m}^{2}

so the area of rectangle will be 800meter square
