Heya !!
Let length of rectangle be X m.
Breadth of rectangle = x/3 m
Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( l + b)
=> 2 ( x + x/3 )
=> 2 ( 4x/3 ) m
Given that,
Perimeter of rectangle = 2/5 × 40 - 2.4
2 × ( 4X/3 ) = 16 - 2.4
8x/3 = 13.6
8x = 40.8
x = (40.8/8)
x = 5.1
Length of rectangle = X = 5.1 m
And,
Breadth of rectangle = X/3 = 5.1/3 = 1.7 m
