Let the breadth be x metres

Then , length = ( 2 + x ) metres

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( l + b )

2(l + b) = 24

2 ( x+2 + x ) = 24

2 (2x + 2) = 24

4x + 4 = 24

4x = 24-4

4x = 20

x = 20/4

x = 5

Therefore, breadth of the rectangle is 5 m

Answer:

5 metre

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the Breadth = x

then, Length = 2m + x

ATQ,

Perimeter = 2 × (l+b)

24metre = 2 × (2m + x + x)

24metre = 2 × (2m + 2x)

24metre = 4metre + 4x

24 metre - 4metre = 4x

20 metre = 4x

20 /4 = x

5metre = x

Hence breadth = 5m
