Answer:

Perimeter = 40 cm

Let , length be 3x and breadth be 2x

We know that ,

2( l+b)= 40 cm

2 ( 3x + 2x ) = 40

5x = 20

x = 4

length = 3 × 4 = 12

breadth = 2 × 4 = 8

Area of rectangle = l × b

= 12 × 8

=96cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given perimeter of a rectangle is 40 cm

We know that

perimeter of a rectangle is 2(l+b)

where l is length of the rectangle

b is the breadth of the rectangle

l/b=3/2

l=3b/2

2(l+b)=40

l+b=20

(3b/2)+b=20

(5b/2)=20

5b=40

b=8

l=3b/2=3×8/2=3×4=12

Area of the rectangle =lb

=8×12cm

=96cm

Area of the rectangle =96cm
