Let , length = $l$

$\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\:$breadth =$\frac{1}{4}l$

Perimeter of a rectangle = 500 cm

=> 2($l$+$b$) = 500 cm

=> 2 ($l$+$\frac{1}{4}l$) = 500

=> 2 × $\frac{4l+l}{4}$ =500

=> 2 × $\frac{5l}{4}$ = 500

=> $\frac{10 l}{4}$ = 500

=> $l$ = $\frac{500×4}{5}$

=>$l$ = 50×4

=> $l$ = 200 cm$\:\:\:$ Ans.

$b$ = $\frac{1}{4}l$

$\:\:\:$ = $\frac{1}{4}$ 200

$\:\:\:$ = 50 cm$\:\:\:$ Ans.
