Given:-

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 860m

  • Length is 4m more than its width.

To Find:-

  • The area of Rectangle

Formulae used

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 2(L + B).

  • Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth.

Now,

Let the width be "x"

Length of Rectangle = x + 4

Perimeter of Rectangle = 2(L + B)

860 = 2( x + x + 4)

860/2 = 2x + 4

430 = 2x + 4

430 - 4 = 2x

426 = 2x

x = 426/2

x = 213.

Therefore,

Width = x = 213

Length = x + 4 = 217.

Now,

Area of Rectangle = L × B

Area of Rectangle = 213 × 217

Area of Rectangle = 46221m².

Hence, The Area of Rectangle is 46221m².

Let the width of rectangle be "a".

So, Length = "a + 4"

So, A.T.Q

⇒ 860 = 2(a + a + 4)

⇒ 860/2 = 2a + 4

⇒ 430 = 2a + 4

⇒ 430 - 4 = 2a

⇒ 426 = 2a

⇒ a = 426/2

⇒ a = 213

Breadth = 213 m

Length = 213 + 4 = 217 m

Now,

Area = Length * Breadth

⇒ Area = 213 * 217

⇒ Area = 46,221 m
