let the sides of the triangle be a and b

a + b= 12-5

= 7

now we have to find two numbers a and b which add up to seven and their squares add up to 25

from hit and trial we get 4 and 3

now area of the triangle is 0.5*4*3=6

verifiction using heron's formula

s = 12/2 =>6

area = (6*(6-4)*(6-3)*(6-5))**1/2

=6

Step-by-step explanation:

perimeter = 12 cm and hypotenuse = 5 cm

by the pythagoras theorem:

from eq(1):

substitute in eq(2):

thus

thus the other two sides are 3 cm and 4 cm.

area of the triangle =
