Given :-

Perimeter of the square = 400 cm

To Find :-

The length of it's sides in metres.

Analysis :-

Substitute the values given in the formula of perimeter of square.

Then you can easily find the sides and covert the answer to meter units.

Solution :-

We know that,

  • s = Side
  • p = Perimeter

Let the side be 's'.

By the formula,

\underline{\boxed{\sf Perimeter \ of \ square=4 \times Side}}

Given that,

Perimeter (p) = 400 cm

Substituting their values,

400 = 4 × s

By transposing,

s = 400/4

s = 100 cm

By converting,

1 cm = 0.1 m

100 cm = 1 m

Therefore, the sides in meter is 1 m.
