chintubsk247: thank u friend but how can we say that AB=(15-BC).......height can also be smaller than base
rashishah2016: sorry i think perimeter is 40. its my fault.
rashishah2016: that is why i'm thinking that equation is wrong
chintubsk247: its k but i had understood ur process
rashishah2016: its so nice of you :)

let abc be the right triangle where ac is the hypotenuse
according to pythagoras theorem,
ab^2+bc^2=ac^2=25^2=625.................1
since the perimeter of the triangle is 60 cm
ab+bc+ac=60
ab+bc=60-25=35
      ab=35-bc...........2
sub 1 in 2
           (35-bc)^2+bc^2=625
1225+bc^2+bc^2-70bc=625
           2bc^2-70bc-600=0
             bc^2-35bc-300=0
therefore,
bc=7cm andwhen we sub in 1 we get ab as 24cm

dhonisuresh0703: please mark my answer as brainliest.
chintubsk247: thank u bro bit how can we say that ab=35-bc........height can also be smaller than base
dhonisuresh0703: u r welcome .since ab+bc=35, automatically ab=35-bc(bring bc to opp. side......another way u can do is by bringing ab to the opp. side i.e.,bc=35-ab
chintubsk247: but we can't underestimate ab or else bc is less than 35
dhonisuresh0703: but according to the condition it is true and we are supposed to.
chintubsk247: thanks for making me to confirm that u r answer is correct
chintubsk247: i was just having doubt
dhonisuresh0703: u r always welcome. it's my pleasure bro
