Perimeter of a triangle is 49cm. One side of the triangle is 7cm longer than another side and 5cm shorter than the third side. Find the lengths of its sides.

Let the first side of the triangle be = x .

So,

ATQ ,

2nd side will be = x - 7

3rd side will be = x + 5.

We know that perimeter of triangle is equal to the sum of all of the three sides & given that perimeter of the triangle is 49cm.

So,

x + (x - 7) + (x + 5) = 49cm.

⟹ x + x - 7 + x + 5 = 49cm

⟹3x - 2 = 49cm

⟹3x = 51

⟹x = 51/3

⟹x = 17cm.

So length of sides will be:-

x,x-7,x+5

=17cm,10cm,22cm
