Required Answer :

  • Second side = 30 cm
  • Third side = 10 cm

Given :

• Perimeter of the triangle = 64 cm

• One of the side of the triangle = 24 cm

• The second side is longer than the third side than 20 cm.

To find :

• Second and third side of the triangle

Solution :

Let,

  • Third side of the triangle = x
  • Second side of the triangle = x + 20 cm

Using formula,

  • Periemter = a + b + c

where,

  • a, b and c are the three sides of the triangle

Substituting the given values :-

→ 64 = x + x + 20 + 24

→ 64 = 2x + 44

→ 64 - 44 = 2x

→ 20 = 2x

→ 10 = x

Substituting the value of 'x' in the sides of the triangle :-

→ Third side = x

→ Third side = 10 cm

→ Second side = x + 20

→ Second side = 10 + 20

→ Second side = 30 cm
