As the ∆ is equilateral

perimeter = addition of all sides

hence each side = 4

now altitude drawn on any side of equilateral ∆ ,bisect the line

hence by using pythagoras theorem

{length of altitude]^2=16-4=12

hence length of altitude=√12=2√3
