The third side is (40-(15+15))= 10 cm.

Therefore using Heron's formula

(root of) s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

where s = a+b+c/2

15+15+10/2 = 40/2 = 20.

(root of) 20 x 5 x 5 x 10.

(root of) 5000 sq cm.
