Solution

Given :-

  • Perimeter of rectangular park 40 m
  • ratio of thier length & wide be 2:5

Find :-

  • Its Area

Explanation

Let,

  • Length ve = x
  • Length ve = xWide be = y

Case 1.

==> x : y = 2:5

==> x/y = 2/5

==> 5x - 2y = 0__________(1)

Case 2.

==> perimeter of rectangular park = 40

==> 2×(x + y) = 40

==> x + y = 40/2

==> x + y = 20__________(2)

Multiply by 2 in equ(2)

==> 2x + 2y = 40________(3)

sum equ(1) & equ(3)

==> 5x + 2x = 40

==> 7x = 40

==> x = 40/7

==> x = 40/7 m

keep in equ(1)

==> 5 × 40/7 - 2y = 0

==> 2y = 200/7

==> y = 200/14

==> y = 100/7

Now, calculate area

==> Area of rectangular park = Length × wide

==> Area of rectangular park = 40/7 × 100/7

==> Area of rectangular park = 4000/49

==> Area of rectangular park = 81.63 m²

Answer:

let x be the common multiple

length = 2x

breadth = 5x

perimeter = 40

let's find the value of x

perimeter = 2 ( length × breadth )

40 = 2 ( 2x + 5x )

40 = 2 × 7x

40/2 = 7x

20 = 7x

20/7 = x

therefore

length = 2× 20/7

= 40/7

breadth = 5× 20/7

= 100/7

we have asked to find out area

Area of rectangular park = length × breadth

= 40/7 × 100/7

= 4000/ 49 m
