DF = 1/2 BC (Mid-Point theorem)                          .......(1)
Similarly,
DE = 1/2 AC                                                           ......(2)
EF = 1/2 AB                                                            ......(3)

Perimeter of triangle ABC = AB + BC + AC
1/2 AB + 1/2 BC + 1/2 AC = 1/2 perimeter of triangle ABC
DE + DF + EF = 1/2 ABC = 36                                ........(from 1,2 and 3)
DE + DF + EF = DEF = 36
