Given - perimeter of triangle 1 - 30 cm

perimeter of triangle 2 - 40 cm

Find - Ratio of areas of two triangles

Solution - Perimeter of triangle is sum of it's sides. Since two triangles are involved, writing them as ratio.

perimeter of triangle 1/perimeter of triangle 2 = side of triangle 1/side of triangle 2

side of triangle 1/side of triangle 2 = 3/4

Area of a triangle is equal to square of it's side.

Hence, area of triangle 1/area of triangle 2 = (3/4)²

area of triangle 1/area of triangle 2 = 9/16

Therefore, ratio of area of two triangles is 9/16.
