Algorithm:

In a simple pendulum

T=2pi root l/g

implies T directly proportional to root L

implies if L increases by 44cm then T increases by root 44 which is equal to 6.63 approx.

Now it is given that T increases by 20% therefore 20% of x =6.63

X=(6.63×100)/20=33.15 sec (approx.)

Therefore time period is 33.15sec sec or you can say approx 33 sec

Now we know

T =2pi root l/g

33.15=2pi root l/g

squaring both sides

33.15^2 =4pi^2×(l/g)

pi^2 and g cancels

implies

33.15^2=4L

L=33.15^2/4

now upon computing L becomes equal to 227.4approx.
