to find the ip value of the elements.... we have to check the electronic config. of the elements as per the AUFAV rule(1s^2,2s^2....).
The second ip level is alwayz higher than the first ip level. The ip is directly proportional to the nuclear charge and indirectly proportional to the atomic radius/size.

There are two ways--
(1) by checking at. size.., or
(2)by checking the effective nuclear charge
IP is inversely proportional to at. size
& IP is directly proportional to eff.nucl. charge.
