A virtual and straight (without inversion) image is formed in the periscope.

• The optical system of a periscope is dependent on the two mirrors inside of a periscope.

• Now we all know that images which are formed by the mirror reflection are always virtual.

• The formed virtual image is straight because when the number of mirrors is even, the inversion is cancelled by the next reverse reflection.
