Hey dear ur answer is here....

The perivitelline space is between the zona pellucida and the oocyte membrane. The perivitelline space is the space between the zona pellucida and the cell membrane of an oocyte or fertilized ovum. In the slow block to polyspermy, the cortical granules released from the ovum are deposited in the perivitelline space.

Hope this helps you out....!!!

The perivitelline space is formed between the plasma membrane and the zona pellucida of oocytes.

  • During the slow block to polyspermy, cortical granules released from the ovum are settled in the perivitelline space. The polysaccharides released from the granules cause the space to swell, which pushes zona pellucida away from the oocyte.  Hydrolytic enzymes released by the granules cause the reaction of the zona, which removes the ZP3 ligands from the pellucid.
  • Perivitelline space is important because this is where the polar body resides after meiosis.
