Permesh is 3 year younger to ketki. sum of their ages 27 years. find their ages.​

let the age of ketki be x

permesh = x+3

according to the question

x+x+3 = 27

2x+3 = 27

2x = 27-3

x = 24/3

x = 8

therefore, ketki = 8

permesh = 8+3 = 11

Let Ketki's age be x years.

Then parmesh's age will be x-3 years.

Sum of their ages = x + (x-3) = 27 years

2x - 3 = 27

(we shall try such values for x which make 2x greater than 27 because after subtracting 3 from 2x, we should get 27).

we shall start trying from x= 14 onwards.

x = 14 \: gives \: LHS \:  =  \: 2x - 3 = 2 \times 14 - 3 = \:  28 - 3 = 25 ≠27

x = 15 \: gives \: LHS \:  = 2x - 3 = 2 \times 15 - 3 = 30 - 3 = 27 = RHS

X = 15 means Ketki's age = 15 years

::: parmesh's age = 15 - 3 = 12 years.
