Answer:

base radius of the cone is 9cm

Step-by-step explanation:

h=40cm

slant height nothing but length l=41cm

from Pythagorean theorem

l²=h²+r²

41²=40²+r²

r²=(41²-40²)

r² = (41+40)(41-40)

r²=81

r=9cm

Given

we have given height of cone which is 40cm

and slant height of cone is 41cm

To Find

we have to find radius of the cone

\sf\huge\bold{\underline{\underline{{Solution}}}}

Know the terms:

★Height : height is the vertical distance from the vertex of the cone to its base.

★slant height : slant height is also the height of the cone but it's the distance from the vertex to its outer boundary of its base.

formula for finding slant height : l²= h²+r²

By applying slant height's formula:

(41)²=(40)²+r²

41²-40²=r²

r²=1681-1600

r²=81

r=√81

r=9

hence,radius of base of the cone is 9cm.

Extra information=>

some properties of Cone:

  • A cone is a three dimensional figure .
  • It has only one face which is its base with no edge.
  • A cone has only one vertex point.
  • Volume of cone is 1/3πr²h
  • Curved surface area is πrl
  • Total surface area is πr( r+l)
