Given,

height = h = 5 cm

height = h = 5 cm slant height = l = 13 cm

radius = ?

We know that,

l =  \sqrt{ {r}^{2}  +  {h}^{2} }  \\  =  >  {l}^{2}  = {r}^{2}  +  {h}^{2} \\  =  >  {r}^{2}  =  {l}^{2}  -  {h}^{2}  \\  =  > r =  \sqrt{ {l}^{2}  -  {h}^{2} }  \\  =  > r =  \sqrt{ {13}^{2}  -  {5}^{2} }  \\  =  > r =  \sqrt{169 - 25}  \\  =  > r =  \sqrt{144}  = 12cm

Thus the radius of the base of cone is 12 cm
