Given,

Let together they complete job in X minutes

then

X.A + X.B = J

substituting value of A and B  and canceling J

X(1/48 + 1/60) = 1

X = 60 x 48 /(60 + 48) = 26.666 minutes = 26 minutes and  40 seconds
