Answer:

Assume, a person is standing in front of a plane mirror. The distance between the mirror and his image is 6 m. If the person moves 2 m towards the plane mirror, what would be the distance between the person and his image?

We know,

Distance between object or body (in front of the plane mirror) and the plane mirror (D1) is equal to the distance between the plane mirror and the image (behind the plane mirror) (D2) .

Now, according to question,

D1 = 6m

After moving 2m towards the plane mirror,

D1 = 6–2 = 4m

.°. D2 = 4m {due to the above mentioned reason}

Hence, the Distance Between the person and the image is (distance between person and plane mirror + distance between plane mirror and his image) = D1+D2 = (4+4)m = 8 metres.

Hope this helps!!!
