Avul pakir jainulabdeen kalam who we use to call dr.APJ Abdul kalam was born on 15 october 1931 in Tikundi in dhanushkodi in the district of Rameshwaram his father was jainaluddin and mother Ashiamma .
His father jainaluddin was a humble boat owner which he use to rented out to local fisherman .He was devoted muslim and a close friend of Rameshwaram temple priest and this made kalam grow in multi-religious ,tolerant society with a progressive outlook .kalam had seven siblings when there was no electricity he woke up at 4 am and his day end at 11 pm at night .
