Once when I was in 3rd grade I travelled a distance of 80km from my home, all alone. It was the day of Christmas and we all gathered in our school for a small programme. We were suppose to return back by our own. So when I was returning back home, I heared some senior students talking to each other about going to the Church at a big town, 80km away from our village. They also included that today there was a huge fair near the church. I was thrilled by the name of fair. The students climbed into a bus to visit the fair. I followed them and went to the last seat so that they don't recognize me. After travelling for 2 hours we finally reached our destination. It was 1pm at that time. They went out of the bus and I gradually followed them. First we went to the church and it was beautiful. The students were so busy in talking that they didn't notice me. Then we entered the fair. It was so beautiful all around. I was dancing with joy to see such cool toys and rides and also this was my first time travelling alone at some place. I was feeling proud of myself. Dad had given me rupees 50 note at the morning so that I could buy myself some sweets. It was Christmas and our bus was so filled that the moneycollector didn't get the chance to ask me any money. I had the note of rupees 50 in my pocket. So I took it out and bought some jalebis with rupees 20.Then I went to the balloon shop and bought a cute balloon of rupees 10. The remaining rupees 20 I used for taking a ride on a merry-go-round. I was out of money now. So, I seat on a chair and stated to look the programme that was held at one side of the fair. I was enjoying so much that I didn't realise that it was already 4pm. Only after the sun was fading away a little. I realized that it was already evening and I was out of home since morning. So I quickly got up and started searching for those students. Soon after that I realized that they were already gone. Now my happiness was totally ended. I started shivering of cold and went to the bus station. I tried to get into different vehicles but all of them were first asking for money and I didn't have a single penny. I was so afraid that I almost started to cry. Then suddenly I felt a sudden gentle touch on my shoulder. I turned around and found a tall and good looking man. He asked me politely where are you from kiddo? Where are your parents? Did you get lost? I replied with a shaking voice, I'm from Rampur and I want to return back home and started to cry. The man held my hand and said that he was going to Rampur too and he can take me to my home. I was initially happy but then thought about the 'stranger, danger' that my mother had taught me before somedays. So I refused to go with him. Then he saw me his ID and it turned out he was a policeman returning to his home. I didn't trust him completely but I had no choice left. So we got into a bus. After travelling for two hours, We finally reached Rampur and the gentleman took me to my home. Fortunately this man was one of the kindest man I had ever meet. We chatted a lot on our way home and became friends. When I arrived at home my parents were ready to go to the police station but then after seeing me fit and fine, they bursted into tears and huged me. I told the whole story to my parents and promised never to travel somewhere alone without there permission. The man was also sitting there and heared my story. He gently patted on my head and said I was a brave girl. My mother offered him a cup of tea but he refused and said goodbye to us. He looked at me and said we shall meet again someday. I watched him going till he faded away in the road.
It was my short story, and we may conclude that not all the man are same. Still now there are a lot of people who had a big heart and spread humanity. We just need to trust the right person.
