Explanation:

The Guru-Disciple tradition is a unique feature of our nation and culture. The Guru is the one who takes out ignorance from us.Our teachers are our Guru. That is why, ‘Teacher’s Day’ should be celebrated on the auspicious day of Gurupournima to offer gratitude at the feet of our teachers. First let us understand the meaning of the word ‘Guru’. ‘Gu’ means ‘darkness’ and ‘ru’ means ‘removal’.Guru is the one who removes the ignorance of disorder from our life and teaches us how to live a blissful life.

⚫Whom would you consider your greatest guru?

➡As Mashelkar has spoken in the passage, his mother was his greatest guru. We all can relate to this line, as every person's mother is the first teacher one can have. Our mother gives us the values that we take with us throughout life, and they constantly push us ahead to achieve what we aim for. They would sacrifice their own personal wants and needs in order to ensure their children's well-being- meanwhile imparting the pearls of wisdom to their children.

Mother has a higher status than Guru, because mother is the only one who is closest to her children, when we get hurt, now we take out the mother from the mouth. Although there is no dearth in the love of father, father teaches us to be strict and the right path. But the child spends most of the time with his mother. The mother explains everything from small to big things from childhood, teaches her, on the basis of stories, informs her about new things, shows the way. Perhaps it is difficult for me or every mother to tell what a child is to her and that to the children.

"Mother is our first teacher. As soon as we are born, she gives us education and initiation."
