Pescud's claim, "When people in real life marry, they generally hunt up somebody in their own station. A fellow usually picks out a girl who went to the same high school and belonged to the same singing-society that he did."

Here John A Pescude says that people are in interested in best sellers which r all having a same concept of a princess falling in love eith any common wealthy young man and getting married which is opposite to that take place in real life where men find out woman of the same range(socially financially etc....) for permanent keeps(to marry)

Pescud's  main concern in the above lines is the vast difference between reality and fiction. In contrast to fiction, where a girl of a high social status such as a princess, has the freedom to choose the man of her dreams ...she will gradually go on to finally find her "prince" in the end. But in real life, when a man marries a woman he is most likely to marry someone whom he has shared a relation with or whom he has known quite well from his childhood. He would prefer to marry the girl who belongs to the same society of his and who shares similar interest and likes with him.
