Most of the field are irrigated with canals/rivers or other source of water. During rain, rainwater flows over the field taking harmful polluting pesticides and insecticides with them. These pesticides/insecticides wash away and get mixed with those source of water and thus polluting them.
The water also wash these insecticides and pesticides to deep underground and mixing them in underground water.
