Step-by-step explanation:

The best and most common way to tackle work and time questions is first calculate amount of work done in 1 day. (Here we are assuming that the work is being done uniformly over the whole period, means equal amount of work is done in equal periods of time.)

So if complete work is done in 12 days, we calculate amount of work done in 1 day as= 1/12.

Second thing in this is to understand the meaning of “ 50% more efficient”

“ 50% efficient ” means half efficient.

“ 50% more efficient ” means 50% extra efficient than the prior (prior one being 100% efficient), means 150% efficient or 1.5 times efficient.

So more work will be done on daily basis that will be 50% more work or simply 1.5 times of the work done by prior one.

1 day work = 1/12 + (50% of 1/12) = 1/12 x (1+1/2) = 1/12 x 3/2 = 1/12 x 1.5 = 1/8

so the work done in one day is 1/8th of the total work

so the complete work can be done in 8 days.
