Peter earned 12 % more than Ravi.

◆ Explaination -

Let P (Peter), A (Albert) and R (Ravi) be money earned by them respectively.

Given that Peter earned 40% more money than albert.

P = A (100+40)/100

P = 1.4 A

But also, Albert earned 20% less than Ravi.

P = 1.4 × R (100-20)/100

P = 1.4 × 0.8 × R

P = 1.12 R

Peter earned more money by -

P-R = 1.12 R - R

P-R = 0.12 R

P-R = 12% R

Therefore, we can say that peter earned 12 % more money than Ravi.
