Petrol also does not react with sodium or potassium. But it is not selected for preserving sodium or potassium. Why?

Bcoz petrol is highly inflammable and it does not need a medium to burn.

petrol can be used as a preservative as it can save it from moisture but due to its lack of availablity and cost it  is not used
