Petrol does not catch fire on its own on room temperature.Why?

because it needs a high temperature to catch fire

Petrol does not catch fire on its own on room temperature because it does not reach its ignition temperature . The room temperature may not be its room temperature. As ignition temperature is the minimum temperature at which any substance catches fire.
