The pH of 0.1 M NaHS is equal to 10.5.

  • Salts that are produced by partial displacement of proton from their corresponding acids are called amphiprotic salts.
  • Since NaHS is produced by partial displacement of proton from H2S , it is also an amphiprotic salt.
  • pH of an amphiprotic salt = (pKa1 + pKa2)/2
  • Substituting the values we get pH =10.5.
