You might know that blood is a buffer, so on addition of any acid or base (in slight amounts) leads no (or) non - considerable change in ph.
Actually the mechanism going on is:
When you add an acid (or) base in this aqueous solution, salt hydrolysis happens, so further buffer action is reduced.But this happen until a range where buffer doesn't break its capacity.
