pH means potenz of hydrogen or power of hydrogen.

It indicates the amount of h^{+} and OH- ions in a solution.

If the pH is less than 7 the solution is acidic and if the solution is more than 7 it is basic.

pH of lemon juice gives 2.2 which means that it is acidic and sodium hydroxide gives a pH of 14 which means it is basic.
