Phenol is more acidic and ethanol is less acidic than water.Why?

In phenol, pulling the pz electrons from the oxygen atom into the ring causes the hydrogen atom to be more partially positive than it is in aliphatic alcohols. This means it is much more easily lost from phenol than it is from aliphatic alcohols, so phenol has a stronger acidic property than ethanol.

Acidity depends on how the compounds releases its proton very easily and after releasing how stable it is. In case of phenol H+ is released and phenoxide ion is formed which is resonance stabilized but in case of ethanol the ethoxide ion formed after releasing proton is not much stable. Hence, phenol is more acidic ethanol.
