It Gives Deep Blue or Green color solution.

When phenol heated with NaNO2 by adding few drops of concentrated H2SO4, it gives Deep Blue or Green Color solution. The color turns into Red on Dilution with Water While the original color can achieve with Sodium Hydroxide. This reaction Named as Lieberman's Nitroso Reaction.
