The solution changes from colorless to pink in colour as sodium hydroxide is basic in nature.

While titration of sodium hydroxide solution we use phenolphthalein as an indicator. phenolphthalein turns colourless to pink at the end point

. to find out the molarity and strenth of a certain base we take some known quantity of acid and perform the titration
. we use phenolphthalein, add some drops to acid, and perform the titration
. just at end point( when all the reactants have reacted) the solution turns a liitle pinkish and we end the titration
. note down the amount of base used and further solve for molarity and strength
