Phil's age can also be calculated as

4(1/5x + 7) = 2x - 2 __________( ii )

So,

4/5x + 28 = 2x - 2

28 + 2 = 2x - 4/5x

30 = 10/5x - 4/5x

30 = 6/5x

x = 30 × 5/6

x = 25
