Phileas Fogg is not a real person, but a fictional character created by the French author Jules Verne (1828 – 1905). He is the central character of the travel adventure ‘Around the World in Eighty Days’. The book was written in 1873.

The story is about how Phileas Fogg and his travel companion Passepartout go around the world in eighty days, encountering several difficult situations, to win a wager.
