When Phosphorus ( P ) reacts with chlorine ( Cl2 ) , it will give Phosphorus penta-chloride ( PCl5 ) . The balanced equation of this reaction is as follows :

P4 + 10 Cl2 - - - - - - - - - - - > 4 PCl5

Phosphorous + Chlorine -------> Phosphorous pentachloride
