Chlorine atomic no. is 17 so it has vacant d orbitals where the electrons of phosphorous xan enter to combine to form a compound
iodine atomic no. is 127 it has no vacant d orbitals so P electron cannot enter and hence no product formed

Answer:

Phosphorus never forms PI₅ with Iodine because

Explanation:

The Iodine atom is much bigger than the Chlorine atom. 5 of the Iodine atoms can not be accommodated around a single phosphorus atom.
