phosphorus is highly reactive element .this means that at room temperature .it react very quickly with oxygen in air turning into pentoxide and process leading high combustion. this makes it very dangerous element .if it is not handled properly .phosphorus is also insoluble in water .when kept under water it easy to carry and it directly react with oxygen in air....
