phosphorus is more reactiv ethan nitrogen.why?

because the no of orbit of Phosphorus is larger then nitrogen and attraction force between the outermost orbit of P is less then nitrogen, due to this internal molecular force then reactivity of P is more then nitrogen.

phosphorus is more reactive than nitrogen because it forms a single p-p bond while nitrogen forms pπ-pπ bond which is much stronger than single p-p bond formed by phosphorus.as the nitrogen triple bond is stronger,it,s bond dissasociation enthalpy is greater than that of phosphorus.hence phosphorus having less enthalpy is much reacitve.
