photoelectric threshold of silver is 380A° ultra violet light of 2600A° is incident on a silver surface. calculate work function in electron volt, maximum kinetic energy of emited photoelectron, maximum velocity of photoelectron.​

  • KE= E - phi(work function)
  • E= 12400/lemda ev
  • so E= 12400/2600= 4.76ev
  • Phi = 12400/380=32.63ev
  • phi>E
  • so there is no photoelectric Effect
  • hence KE is 0
  • Max Velocity is also 0
  • as you know KE = 1/2MV2
